Platoon commander, Lt. Kelly (Eastwood) decides that as long as he is going to risk his life at war, he might as well get something out of it besides a medal, so he enlists his mismatched men to rob a bank deep behind enmy lines and help themselves to the gold. There's only one slight problem, the german army. Kelly is faced with enemy panzers, bazookas and heavy artilery and all he has to fight with is a loozy tank commander (Sutherland), a fast talking wheeler dealer (Rickles) and an odd assortment of off-kilter characters who can barely shoot straight. But after a series of fiery battles, it seems Kelly's Heroes may have enough comic ammo to pull off the mission - proving that war is not just hell - it's also a hell a lot of fun! |
